Even professing “Christians”—those who claim to know God—do not know the God of the Bible; i.e., the God who reveals who He really is in His Word, of which He is the ultimate and original author. Remember: Every word contained in and comprising Holy Writ (the Scriptures) is “God-breathed” or spoken, verbalized through human agents/writers: “ALL scripture is inspired by God (God-breathed; lit.) and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (2 Tim. 3:16-17). This means that every word that the writers of Scripture penned as surrogate spokesmen of God conveys the attitudes, mindsets, thinking, rationale of God Himself, not of those individuals Spirit-anointed scribes. For example, when King David scribed what he did in what later became chapters of the Book of Psalms, he was expressing his own attitudes, mindsets, thinking, rationale, but all of those expressions also reflected God’s attitudes, mindsets, thinking, rationale; otherwise they never would have made it into the compendium of the closed cannon comprising Scripture.
The undeniable and irrefutable bottom-line of the collection of Scriptures that follow is that while God is the God of Agape-Love, and actually the author/originator of same, that same God is also a God who HATES, that is holds utter contempt for those who hate and oppose Him, His Word, Will, and Ways. To say otherwise is to call God a liar and His Holy Word a lie! It can be no other way—God will not in the Day of Judgment judge and condemn those who love Him and whom He loves, but rather those who have demonstrated by the actions, attitudes, and deeds of their lives that they HATE Him!
So, yes, there is such a thing as “BIBLICAL Hate!” There is even such a thing as GODLY and RIGHTEOUS hate! The following Scriptures prove it without any shadow of doubt. And, don’t even waste your time with the inane and insane rationale that “Well, God doesn’t really mean it the way that it says it Scripture.” Lies, balderdash, nonsense! God is the author of language and words; He is the supreme Communicator! He is God! He knows how to speak and express what He wants to say. He says exactly what He means and means exactly what He says!
It is completely false teaching to say or infer that God does not hate! He does! The relatively small sampling of Scriptures that follow proves that He does beyond argument.
Some Hate Scriptures
“Those who HATE you will be clothed with shame, And the tent of the wicked will be no longer.” (Job 8:22)
The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You HATE all who do iniquity. (Psa. 5:5)
Be gracious to me, O LORD; See my affliction from those who HATE me, You who lift me up from the gates of death, (Psa. 9:13)
Your hand will find out all your enemies; Your right hand will find out those who HATE you. (Psa. 21:8)
Look upon my enemies, for they are many, And they HATE me with violent hatred. (Psa. 25:19)
I HATE the assembly of evildoers, And I will not sit with the wicked. (Psa. 26:5)
I HATE those who regard vain idols, But I trust in the LORD. (Psa. 31:6)
Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who HATE the righteous will be condemned. (Psa. 34:21)
Do not let those who are wrongfully my enemies rejoice over me; Nor let those who HATE me without cause wink maliciously. (Psa. 35:19)
But my enemies are vigorous and strong, And many are those who HATE me wrongfully. (Psa. 38:19)
All who HATE me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt, saying, (Psa. 41:7)
But You have saved us from our adversaries, And You have put to shame those who HATE us. (Psa. 44:7)
You cause us to turn back from the adversary; And those who HATE us have taken spoil for themselves. (Psa. 44:10)
“For you HATE discipline, And you cast My words behind you. (Psa. 50:17)
For the choir director. A Psalm of David. A Song. Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered, And let those who HATE Him flee before Him. (Psa. 68:1)
Those who HATE me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; Those who would destroy me are powerful, being wrongfully my enemies; What I did not steal, I then have to restore. (Psa. 69:4)
“Those who HATE the LORD would pretend obedience to Him, And their time of punishment would be forever. (Psa. 81:15)
For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who HATE You have exalted themselves. (Psa. 83:2)
Show me a sign for good, That those who HATE me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me. (Psa. 86:17)
“But I shall crush his adversaries before him, And strike those who HATE him. (Psa. 89:23)
HATE evil, you who love the LORD, Who preserves the souls of His godly ones; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked. (Psa. 97:10)
I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I HATE the work of those who fall away; It shall not fasten its grip on me. (Psa. 101:3)
He turned their heart to HATE His people, To deal craftily with His servants. (Psa. 105:25)
The LORD is for me among those who help me; Therefore I will look with satisfaction on those who HATE me. (Psa. 118:7)
From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I HATE every false way. (Psa. 119:104)
Samekh. I HATE those who are double-minded, But I love Your law. (Psa. 119:113)
Therefore I esteem right all Your precepts concerning everything, I HATE every false way. (Psa. 119:128)
I HATE and despise falsehood, But I love Your law. (Psa. 119:163)
Too long has my soul had its dwelling With those who HATE peace. (Psa. 120:6)
May all who HATE Zion Be put to shame and turned backward; (Psa. 129:5)
Do I not HATE those who HATE You, O LORD? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? (Psa. 139:21)
I HATE them with the utmost hatred; They have become my enemies. (Psa. 139:22)
“How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools HATE knowledge? (Pro. 1:22)
“The fear of the LORD is to HATE evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverted mouth, I HATE. (Pro. 8:13)
“But he who sins against me injures himself; All those who HATE me love death.” (Pro. 8:36)
Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will HATE you, Reprove a wise man and he will love you. (Pro. 9:8)
All the brothers of a poor man HATE him; How much more do his friends abandon him! He pursues them with words, but they are gone. (Pro. 19:7)
