Confronting the Error of Hyper-Grace

The biblical message of grace is wonderful, glorious and life-transforming. We can’t live without it for one second of our lives. But there is a message being preached today in the name of a new grace reformation, mixing powerful truth with dangerous error. I call it hyper-grace.

One of the foundational doctrines of the hyper-grace message is that God does not see the sins of his children, since we have already been made righteous by the blood of Jesus and since all of our sins, past, present and future, have already been forgiven.

That means that the Holy Spirit never convicts believers of sin, that believers never need to confess their sins to God, and that believers never need to repent of their sins, since God sees them as perfect in his sight.

It is easy to see how such teaching can be dangerous, especially to a believer being tempted to compromise.

Five Reasons Why American Men Fail To Fulfill Their Destiny

Many men I come across are depressed and have an inordinate desire to be fulfilled in sports by vicariously living their lives through other men they set up as heroes. This is because in sports there are clear winners and losers, thus satisfying a man’s desire to conquer through mastering a skill. Also, because they feel purposeless, they need to live their lives through other men or through a team they can identify with, attempting to fill the void in their hearts.

The Right to Self-Defense

The lesson here is that free people cannot remain free by permitting the government — even a popularly elected one that they can unelect — to take their freedoms away. The anti-freedom crowd in the government desperately wants to convey the impression that it is doing something to protect us. So it unconstitutionally and foolishly seeks, via burdensome and intrusive registration laws, laws restricting the strength of weapons and the quantity and quality of ammunition and, the latest trick, laws that impose financial liability on law-abiding manufacturers and sellers for the criminal behavior of some users, to make it so burdensome to own a gun that the ordinary folks who want one will give up their efforts to obtain one.

What Lies Ahead for America?

What happens when a nation ignores God’s warnings and the call to return to Him? What happens to nations that actually return to God? Regardless of how much the world mocks Christians for believing that God’s Word is absolute truth, there are biblical principles and patterns concerning the judgment or redemption of nations—and this revelation holds profound meaning for America.

Is it Time to Throw in the Towel?

Republican leaders have capitulated, pro-family pundits have caved, and gay activists have announced that their struggle for equality is just about over. Is it time for biblical conservatives to throw in the towel?

Others May; You Cannot

If God has called you to be really like Jesus He will draw you into a life of crucifixion (semin-sequestration and -seclusion; -Ed.) and humility, and put upon you such demands of obedience, that you will not be able to follow (behave or conduct your life like; -Ed.) other people, or measure yourself by other Christians, and in many ways He will seem to let other people do things which He will not let you do.

Declaration of Restoration of Constitutional Principles

On July 4, 1776, our Founders signed one of the most significant documents ever written by man. It was in response to years of petitioning the government of Great Britain to protect their legislative, fiscal and social rights – all to no avail. King George III continually ignored their petitions and burdened them with new taxes levied to pay for the monarchy’s war debts. Since our Founders’ voice in government was ignored and their tax burden increased, they coined the phrase “taxation without representation.” The taxes they objected to were few by today’s standards. Although taxation without representation is the most widely known reason for the American Revolution, it was only part of the problem that drove the Colonists to fight for their independence. In our Declaration of Independence, our Founders listed a “long train” of grievances they believed justified their fight for freedom — astoundingly many of the items listed in the Declaration are eerily similar to the infractions against our citizens in 2013. Like those who went before us, it may be high time that patriotic Americans declare their list of grievances to our would-be king. I have taken the liberty of writing such a Declaration, modeled after the brilliant work of our Founders. In our case, this Declaration would be to declare our demand to the restore our beloved Constitution and the inalienable rights it acknowledges and protects.

Battle for Control of the Republican Party Begins

Karl Rove has declared war on grassroots conservatives and Tea Parties. Rove, who had the richest super PAC in 2012 (American Crossroads, which reportedly spent $300 million in the 2012 election cycle), has started a new fund called Conservative Victory Project to spend big bucks in the 2014 Republican primaries to defeat Republican candidates not approved by the Establishment. Rove’s big money spending last year, which was similarly designed to help only Establishment candidates, especially if they had defeated a real conservative in the primary, was notoriously unsuccessful. Of the 31 races that Rove aired TV ads, Republicans won only 9, so his donors received little return on their investment. Meanwhile, Rove was helping Harry Reid to keep control of the Senate by trying to defeat real conservatives nominated by grassroots Republicans. Rove made nasty and hurtful remarks about conservative candidates he didn’t like.
