Americans Lose While Immigrants Gain
By Phyllis Schlafly

Mexican Immigrant ChildrenAmerican-born workers have had a net loss in jobs since 2000, while all of the job growth since then has gone to immigrants, according to a remarkable new study by the Center for Immigration Studies. This revelation comes as some Republican politicians continue to flirt with amnesty and the disastrous proposal of so-called immigration reform.

Meanwhile, a new Gallup poll proves that the American public is increasingly fed up with the high levels of immigration flooding our job market and our nation. By nearly a 2-1 margin, Americans now want less immigration rather than more: 41 percent would like to see a decrease in immigration, while only 22 percent want to see immigration increase. Unmasking the Imperial Presidency
Phyllis Schlafly

obama-snarling“Imperial presidency” perfectly describes what the Obama administration has become, as it increasingly violates the limits on its power defined by the U.S. Constitution. Criticisms of how President Barack Obama is overstepping his authority are now being heard from all sides of the political spectrum.

A remarkable 33-page report posted on the Internet by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor proves how imperial the Obama administration has become. This easy-to-read report, which can be downloaded by anyone (majorityleader.gov/theimperialpresidency/), details dozens of examples where the current occupant of the White House is exercising powers the Constitution doesn’t give him. Grinch Still Trying to Steal Christmas

By Phyllis Schlafly

The Grinch was a bitter, grumpy hermit who tried to steal Christmas from kids in a famous 1950s children’s story. Unfortunately, the Grinch has reemerged to try to take Christmas away from schoolchildren.

The Grinch is so nasty today that his actions could be prosecuted under our hate crime laws. The law defines hate crimes as those characterized by hate, or even bias, committed on the basis of a person’s protected characteristics of religion and … you know the other protected categories. War On Religious Freedom
Phyllis Schlafly

Americans who believe in God had better wake up and realize that a well-orchestrated campaign is moving to fundamentally transform the United States into a scrupulously secular nation. If this succeeds, we will no longer enjoy our First Amendment right of “free exercise” of religion but will be forbidden to speak or display any prayers, Bible quotations or other evidences of religion in any public place or event.

The major strike force working to accomplish this consists of the American Civil Liberties Union plus various atheist groups. They are always ready to file lawsuits to get some supremacist judge to restrict religious expression. Continue reading “Secularization of America” »

“If you like your health insurance, you can keep it. Period.” Those words will haunt Barack Obama through the remainder of his term and probably achieve eternal life in books of memorable quotations.

Obama’s words will levy even more contemporary embarrassment and political immortality than George H.W. Bush’s “Read my lips. No new taxes,” or Bill Clinton‘s “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” (Bush probably believed his “no new taxes” pledge when he said it, but he reversed his policy so soon that it sounded like a lie.)

Obama’s famous line is worse than those of the others because it was a gross lie about something that matters to millions of Americans and costs them lots of money. Continue reading “Obama Lied Again” »

Romney-Obama 2012 DebateAt last Republicans can read a coherent explanation of why they didn’t win in 2012, despite high unemployment and a dismal economy, the unpopularity of Obamacare and many scandals, such as Fast and Furious. Best-selling author Dr. Jerome Corsi, who spent three weeks traveling with the Mitt Romney campaign listening to every stump speech, gives us an inside look at the cockiness and mistakes of Romney’s staff in a new book called, “What Went Wrong.” Continue reading “AUTOPSY RESULTS: Why Republicans Lost In 2012” »

SCOTUS_2013The Supreme Court decision on marriage, as Justice Antonin Scalia wrote in his dissent, “is an assertion of judicial supremacy over the people’s Representatives in Congress and the Executive. It envisions a Supreme Court standing (or rather enthroned) at the apex of government, empowered to decide all constitutional questions, always and everywhere ‘primary’ in its role.”

Scalia said this role would have been unrecognizable to those who wrote our Constitution. They knew the dangers of “primary” power and that’s why they divided power into three branches of government.

The New York Times headlined its report with the bald-faced lie that the court “Follows the Nation’s Lead.” Au contraire: The court ignored the nation’s lead. The court rejected the majority vote of the people of 31 states, including our nation’s bluest state, California, and ignored the fact that the traditional definition of marriage is enshrined, either by statute or state constitution, in 38 states.

Not only were the court’s decisions wrong, but, as Scalia wrote, the Supreme Court had no power under the Constitution to invalidate those two democratically adopted laws, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California’s Proposition 8. California passed Proposition 8 in a ballot initiative procedure designed to enable the people to correct public officials’ actions that are not acceptable to the people. Karl Rove has declared war on grassroots conservatives and Tea Parties. Rove, who had the richest super PAC in 2012 (American Crossroads, which reportedly spent $300 million in the 2012 election cycle), has started a new fund called Conservative Victory Project to spend big bucks in the 2014 Republican primaries to defeat Republican candidates not approved by the Establishment.

Rove’s big money spending last year, which was similarly designed to help only Establishment candidates, especially if they had defeated a real conservative in the primary, was notoriously unsuccessful. Of the 31 races that Rove aired TV ads, Republicans won only 9, so his donors received little return on their investment.

Establishment losers included Rick Berg who lost in North Dakota and Denny Rehberg who lost in Montana, even while Romney was carrying both of those states. Other Establishment losers were George Allen in Virginia, Tommy Thompson in Wisconsin, Connie Mack in Florida and Heather Wilson in New Mexico.

Meanwhile, Rove was helping Harry Reid to keep control of the Senate by trying to defeat real conservatives nominated by grassroots Republicans. Rove made nasty and hurtful remarks about conservative candidates he didn’t like. Continue reading “Battle for Control of the Republican Party Begins” »
