The Passing of the Passe’ in 2009

The Passing of the Passe’ in 2009

Among the things this earthen vessel hears the Lord Jesus Christ saying in 2009 to the Remnant Church He is building is: “The ‘former things’ have come to pass, and indeed have now passed. This is necessary in order that ‘new things’ be ushered into your individual and collective lives. Whirlwinds of wholesale, seemingly radical change are now whirling. Everything is being shaken, in order that the things that remain be only authentic Kingdom things. The new things that are coming and have come are a passageway of promotion unto a higher dimension of the Spirit into which I am leading you. The challenges before you demand that you walk in a higher dimension of the Spirit in order to meet and resolve them. So also the trials, troubles, and tribulations ahead shall drive you deeper into the Kingdom and …Read Article

2009–A Year of Changing Paradigms

Earthly life entails few constants. Indeed, the only constant in life is change, someone once observed. Change is inevitable and certain. When it comes, our attitude regarding it determines whether it comes as friend or foe. Of all that 2009 holds, it promises to be a Year of Change! Thanks for reading this article! Gifts Vs. Offices (Part 1)

Gifts Vs. Offices (Part 1)

A Trio of Gifts from the Trinity In the Kingdom of the Triune-God good things come in THREES. Trinitarians espouse and expound the Truth that the God-Head consists of three PERSONS, as opposed to manifestations as our non-trinitarian Pentecostal brethren contend. All verily God, perfectly united in essence and purpose, yet simultaneously separate and distinct. One God in Three Persons Trinitarians maintain. (Regardless, it is my personal position that God is grieved and much damage is wreaked when the Body of Christ divides and separates into camps who refuse to walk in fellowship with one another over such matters, and that when we do, it is clear in Scripture that we are not fully walking in the true Light of the Spirit but rather in spiritual darkness, regardless of how right those of each camp contend they are (cf., 1 …Read Article

Prophetic Irresponsibility

Prophetic Irresponsibility

Editorial Foreword [By Dr. Steven Lambert]: Prophetic Publishing Responsibility. While browsing through some articles published on a partnering ministry’s email messaging group site, I stumbled upon the following article, with which I wholeheartedly agree, and felt an urgency and unction of the Spirit to share it here. I am republishing it by permission of the author. Please read and absorb it…the points Bryan makes are poignant and apropos. As those who follow this ministry know, I am a lover of the prophetic ministry, which I myself have been operating in for more than three decades. Moreover, some twenty years ago, I authored a prophetic manual and course that has been used by Bible colleges and church leaders, which is a product of my personal study, research, and ministering in prophetic seminars, conferences, and other prophetic gatherings since the early 1980s, …Read Article

The Prophetic and Present Truth

The Prophetic and Present Truth

The Charismatic Movement brought forth a restoration of and renewed awareness in the “Charismata” or Manifestation Gifts of the Spirit. As that movement was waning, during the last two decades of the 20th Century, God began a systematic restoration of the office of the prophet back into its proper place of function within the Church Jesus is building, beginning with what came to be called a “prophetic movement” birthed in the mid-1980s. The denouement (unfolding, development) of that movement as it transpired over those two closing decades of the 20th Century was by no means without its marked flaws, flat-sides, and failures, as is always the case with any move of the Spirit involving humans (and they all do), even redeemed humans. Too many too often forget or fail to recognize that while God, His Ways, purposes, and plans are …Read Article

The 2008 Election: Democracy or Oligarchy?

The 2008 Election: Democracy or Oligarchy?

Here, one day before perhaps the most important presidential election in the history of this nation, I am painfully aware that this article, if it were to have any impact at all, will be far too little far too late. Unfortunately as well, in terms of the demographics of the readership of this blog, it likely will only amount to “preaching to the choir.” Moreover, I hold no illusions that its message will turn the mind of anyone regarding their vote tomorrow. Despite all this, I am somehow pressed with a patriotic and spiritual duty to write and publish it any way. Only a year ago, I must confess at the outset, I had basically resigned myself to the premise that in the 2008 election America was going to get what it deserved politically. Considering the precipitous moral and spiritual …Read Article

God’s Plan for the Global Economic Collapse of 2008

God’s Plan for the Global Economic Collapse of 2008

In this crucial hour when not only Americans but all peoples of all nations collectively are faced with the catastrophic effects of the most expansive economic collapse in the annals of human history, it is calming, comforting, and cheering to know that the Sovereign and Almighty God has a plan, has eternally known what the plan is, and that His plan—for individual believers and His true Body alike—is not for harm, calamity, disaster, or destruction, but welfare, good, prosperity, peace, and a hope-filled future.

True Unity of the Spirit (Part 3)

True Unity of the Spirit (Part 3)

I believe in and covet unity among believers—wholeheartedly. I greatly prefer unity over disunity, harmony over disharmony, accord over discord, concord over controversy, agreement over disagreement, amity over animus. There are numerous Scripture passages stating God’s desire for unity among the Brethren. Genuine unity of the Spirit is vital to the Body of Christ in order to accomplish the purposes and plans of God on Earth. Unfortunately, however, the notion of unity that many in the Church today have been indoctrinated with is not true unity at all, but rather a convoluted counterfeit that is used by some unscrupulous and unaware leaders as a subtle mechanism of manipulation aimed at predomination for self-aggrandizing purposes. False Unity and the Lakeland Revival Cult (Part 2)

False Unity and the Lakeland Revival Cult (Part 2)

Finally and mercifully, the “strong delusion” known as “The Lakeland Outpouring” or “Lakeland Healing Revival” is no more, after its main leader, Todd Bentley, has been exposed as the charlatan that Biblically-grounded and spiritually-discerning believers always knew him to be. In “ONE DAY,” the farcical charade Bentley passed off as “ministry” emanating from the Holy Spirit and shamefully flaunted over satellite airwaves around the globe nightly for months on end on a television network audaciously, if not blasphemously, named by its founders, “God TV,” was suddenly brought to a screeching halt…by God Himself. Almost immediately the ever-growing cadre of self-proclaimed “international apostles” and other leaders who virtually stampeded the Lakeland platform to make PR hay for themselves by associating with and effectively endorsing Bentley and the Lakeland fiasco are now scrambling to disseminate their statements of regret, explanation, and even …Read Article

False Unity and the Lakeland Revival Cult (Part 1)

The so-called “Lakeland Healing Revival” has produced a new cult of dogmatic religious zealots, who claim to be “Christians” birthing a “new form” of Christianity. They speak the words, the phrases, the idioms, the expressions associated with Christianity, but their doctrine, or teaching, their theology, their ways, the values and culture they advocate and promote are all far from comporting with orthodox or genuine Christianity. Plain and simple, this whole phenomenon is nothing but just another of the long list of “Christian cults” that have sprung up in church history. To the discerning and experienced, the signs of cultism are all there—glowing and flashing like a neon sign.

Florida Wildfires And Lakeland Wildfire

Florida Wildfires And Lakeland Wildfire

In July of 2007 I posted an article about the Florida Fires that were happening then. In the article, I told about an open vision God gave me regarding the State of Florida three years before in 2004. Click here to read that post. The vision was concerning seven “revival fires” that were kindled by the Spirit since the 1950s. God had specific purposes for each of those “hot spots” of the Spirit, but in every case God’s purposes were prematurely foiled and spoiled by supernatural schemes of Satan, for reasons I cite in the article. But, what Satan was permitted to do was only temporary; God’s purposes and plans are not subject ultimately to Satan’s devices. After showing me the things He did in the vision, He then led me to prophesy by the Spirit to the Fires of …Read Article

The Fallacy of Personal Pastors (Part 2)

[Editor’s note: This article is adapted from the book, CHARISMATIC CAPTIVATION, by Dr. Steven Lambert, himself a Charismatic minister. The book exposes the widespread problem of authoritarian abuse in Neo-Pentecostal church-groups, and explains how it became infused into the very fabric, foundation, and functions of the Neo-Pentecostal church, emerging out of a false movement known as the Discipleship/Shepherding Movement (1970-77). References to “Discipleship” or “Shepherding” (and variables) doctrines, teachings, proponents and participants, and so forth, allude to those pertinences that arose out of that movement. The content of this article is contextual to the entirety of the book, and is best understood by reading the book. A small portion of the book’s content is published in the posted articles listed and linked at the end of this article. _______________ This post is a continuation of the previous post, which you …Read Article

The Myth of Spiritual Covering (Part 1)

The Myth of Spiritual Covering (Part 1)

Let me begin by stating plainly and directly: “spiritual covering” as theorized by the Discipleship theosophy is an absolute MYTH. No semblance of the Shepherding teaching version of “spiritual covering” exists anywhere within the pages of Scripture. “Spiritual covering,” in the vein it is presented by proponents and propagators of these hyper-authoritarian teachings, is an outright deception! It is a complete fabrication concocted by the originators of these fallacious doctrines as a supposed pretext for facilitation of entirely self-aggrandizing objectives of subjugation, domination, and control.

Our Most Critical Need

Our Most Critical Need

“The Glory of the Latter House shall be greater than the Former!” (Hag. 2:9) The hour we live in without equivocation is the most spiritually profound of all of history, and certainly of all “His-story.” Indeed, it can be no less when we are told that all of the historical Biblical events comprising His-story—i.e., the history of Israel—“happened to them as an example (illustration) and they were written for OUR instruction upon whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Cor. 10:11; cf., Rom. 15:4). God is therein declaring that the entire content of the Old Testament—the events it chronicles and the wisdom and instruction those events illustrate—are and always were intended for the true end-time believers comprising the end-times Church that Jesus is building! Counting The Cost

Counting The Cost

The following is an excerpt of my book, The Mystery of the Kingdom, which is an exposition of what Jesus indicated was “The Paramount Parable”—The Parable of the Sower—meaning it was the most important of all His parables, in that it revealed the keys to the “mystery of the kingdom” of God. The excerpt is taken from a chapter in which I examine the second category of hearers in the parable who Jesus described as being “like rocky ground.” He went on to reveal that this category of hearers of the Word are only “temporary believers,” who “have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary” (Mk. 4:17). Luke’s account of this part of Jesus’ parable aptly describes their walk this way: “they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away” (Lk. 8:13). This is an …Read Article

Polemic Prophetic Preaching

Polemic Prophetic Preaching

In an earlier post in which I was commenting on matters inherent in the Grassley Investigation, I wrote: “A ‘Day of Reckoning’ is surely coming to many irresponsible and unscrupulous ministries.” I prophesied that we are about see a fulfillment of the Prophet Malachi’s prophecy (Mal. 3) in the Church that will begin with the leaders.” I also wrote: “…it is a shameful indictment on the modern church, as well as on purporting neo-prophets that a Senator’s spokesman has to be the spokesman God uses to issue the prophetic rebuke concerning the excesses found in some portions of the Neo-Pentecostal Church, ‘The Christian public should have demanded a higher level of accountability a long time ago.’” I further prophesied a release and sending forth of true prophets God would be initiating this year of 2008, who will come “proclaiming piercing prophetic messages that …Read Article

A Desperate Cry For Revival In Charismatic Camelot

A Desperate Cry For Revival In Charismatic Camelot

Publishers Note: Charisma Magazine, founded by Stephen Strang, was originally an organ of my home church, Calvary Assembly of Winter Park, Florida. Roy Harthern, Benny Hinn’s father-in-law, was the influential senior leader of the church at the time. Harthern convinced the church financial board that Calvary should commit quite a large sum of money to the upstart of this new magazine which would essentially be the church’s PR organ. The year it was launched Calvary also helped to underwrite the launching of another upstart ministry I had a part in founding and developing, Festival of Praise, under the leadership of music extraordinaire, Thurlow Spurr. Because of my involvement in FOP and other areas of ministry, I had firsthand personal knowledge of Charisma’s birthing. What began as a small non-commercial magazine intended to be the in-house print organ of one of …Read Article

The Consequences of Covetousness

The Consequences of Covetousness

As I stated on the previous post, I am convinced this whole matter I am discussing in these previous several posts is far from being a mere side-bar, but rather is a prophetic warning from God. I believe it is a critical Kingdom Matter that the Church must turn its attention to in order to be delivered from the dastardly and destructive spirit of mammon that now pervades the Church. Many individuals in the Church are obsessed with the spirit of materialism, and if they continue in their ways and in giving place to the devil, what is an obsession now, will continue to escalate and take more and more ground in their heart until materialism, the love of money, will totally possess them. Some who were once bona fide believers and members of the Body of Christ, have become …Read Article

Idolatry of Trusting in Riches

Keep deception and lies far from me,Give me neither poverty nor riches;Feed me with the food that is my portion. (Prv. 30:8) As I have been indicating in some previous posts, in many Kingdom-related matters, the difference between truth and error is excesses and extremes. Those excesses extremes can be at either end of the spectrum. Such is the case with the real truth regarding the matter of prosperity and success versus whatever is the diametric opposite of that, which I suppose is poverty and failure. The real truth, that is, the Truth of the mind of God that is both concealed and revealed in Christ through the Spirit of Truth, lies somewhere between these opposing messages. The extremes on both sides are error and deception. We must be careful not to swerve too far to either side so as …Read Article

The Deceitfulness of Riches

This is the third part of message related to the previous few posts regarding issues raised by the Grassley Investigation, in particular, the “Prosperity Gospel” as it is preached by the ministries cited in that congressional probe. Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion. (Prv. 30:8) This is the second of a three-part message related to the last few posts regarding issues raised by the Grassley Investigation. As I have been indicating in some previous messages, in many Kingdom-related matters, the difference between truth and error is extremes. Those extremes can be at either end of the spectrum. Satan is a master at taking truth and misapplying it or taking it to extremes and thereby transforming truth into error. We see that in Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness after being baptized in the Spirit when the Holy Spirit rested upon Him in the form of a dove. Immediately thereafter, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by …Read Article
