OPINION
In my March 8, 2013 article, I expressed my conviction that there has been an ongoing cover-up in Washington concerning the mental state of the nation’s Chief Executive Officer, essentially since his first day in the Oval Office. While the article and posits it contained were taken seriously by virtually no one, I was very serious with respect to my assertions, which were predicated on my analysis from the perspective of my psychology knowledge base, training, expertise, and experience of the somewhat extensive and expansive information my research revealed relative to the psychological profile of the man who has assumed the name of Barack Hussein Obama.
Among the predispositions I spotlighted in that article that Obama demonstrates, per copious reportage of political and media insiders, observers, associates, reporters, and those who have known him in one way or another going back to his college days, were chronic or recurring depression, paranoia, schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder, and extreme narcissism, to name only a few. To put things in proper perspective there’s a few things that should be understood about such assertions and extrapolations. One concerns the ostensible matter of depression: while occasional, circumstantial, transient, and low-level depression is a rather common occurrence, on the other hand, chronic, conditional, long-lasting, and acute-level depression is not, and is a component and indicator of mental illness, often correlated to other forms of mental illnesses or psychological abnormalities.
People who entertain and act upon such inordinately high personal aspirations and ambitions as to believe they would possess “the right stuff” to function as the top political leader of any nation, let alone the most powerful nation in the world, no matter how you classify or characterize it, are going to be people in a league comprised of a relative few. Those who would have locked away somewhere in their psyche the level of audacity and confidence required to think that “big” and have “faith” sufficient to regard such a goal as attainable, obviously have an inward constitution that separates them as far as the moon from the earth from “ordinary” or average people. Thus, such un-ordinary people are driven by a set of inward attributes that separate them from the rest of us and therefore cause many of us “others” to unduly magnify in a disapproving way such inward attributes and regard them as a bane rather than a boon.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is delineated in Section 301.81 of the DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), under Cluster B (dramatic, emotional, or erratic disorders) subordinated under the general category of Personality Disorders. NPD is often a subset or component of and correlated type of other specific mental disorders. The overarching point is that Narcissistic Personality Disorder is indeed a personality disorder and is an identified and defined mental disorder (abnormality), i.e., a type of mental illness. Obviously this is not the forum for a comprehensive discussion of NPD, but a good general definition is that it is “A personality disorder characterized by excessive feelings of self-importance and entitlement, a pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy.”[1]
It is my considered opinion and firm conviction that the current President of the United States of America presents signs, symptoms, and components of NPD. Just a few of the markers of NPD that Obama presents, in my opinion, include (and these are my own personal descriptions of the recognized characteristics of NPD): delusional personal grandiosity; superiority, arrogance, and condescension of others; criticism intolerance; expecting and/or demanding constant praise, admiration, and apotheosis from others; pathological prevarication (deception, lying); inordinate bilateral aggressive competitiveness; denial of responsibility, error, wrongdoing, and accountability; considering oneself to be so special and exceptional as to be “above the law”; lack of real humility; dominating and controlling of others in virtually all types of relationships; dictatorial, autocratic, and in extreme cases, tyrannical relational, management, and governing style; Machiavellian mindsets, particularly in the political arena; uncommon paranoia and personal offense at opposition or disagreement, and blame-shifting; disengagement, disconnection, dissociation from others’ emotions; an expansive range of manipulation of facts, events, circumstances, and people for self-serving and/or self-aggrandizing purposes; vindictiveness against critics and opponents. There are other markers I could address that demonstrate inordinate narcissism on the part of the President, and indeed not surprisingly, on the part of many of his close associates, advisers, cronies, Cabinet members, and other appointees.
This is why and how Senator, Presidential Candidate, and President Barack Hussein Obama (or Barry Soetoro, or Frank Davis Jr, or Barry Dunham, or Harrison J. Bounel, or whatever alias you choose) can stridently stride out before media cameras, stare into the lenses with cold-eyed manufactured pathos and a solitary tear here and there, and out-and-out lie over and over and over to the American people about every misdeed, misstep, misjudgment, act of pure stupidity, acts of treason, and commission of high-crimes without any semblance of guilt, remorse, or conscience-piercing. Such as in the case of the four (or five, depending on what you believe) nascent scandals—all attendant with an overt cover-up component—presently in the national political forefront: two attacks by Muslim terrorists on American foreign embassies resulting in the deaths of four brave, noble, and patriotic men who had given their lives in service to their country; the despicable, anti-constitutional, and criminal deeds of IRS agents and administration officials in delaying granting of exempt status of a multiplicity of 501(c)(4) social welfare organization applicants prior to the 2012 presidential election; the systemic U.S. military sex-abuse maelstrom; and the communistic, anti-American, and Constitution-trampling AP scandal in which the DOJ seized a wide swath of unpublished, private, and personal telephone records of reporters and organization administration officials; and, in my view, there’s more the federal government has yet to be held accountable for with respect to the Boston Bombings.
But, let us not forget the scandals, maelstroms, and controversies of Obama’s previous term. One blogger has enumerated 304 scandals in just the first two years and eight months of the Obama administration, ending, for reasons unexplained, on August 11, 2011. The Political Guide lists 30 Obama Controversies,” including (titles, mine):
- Tony Rezko Association;
- Bill Ayers/Bernadine Dohrn Relationship;
- Rev. Jeremiah Wright 20+-year Relationship;
- Birth Certificate Issue;
- 2010 Census Hijacking;
- Arab Kings Bowing and Disavowing America Is A Christian Nation Muslim Nations Tour;
- Beer Summit;
- Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Appointment;
- Marxist Czar Appointments – Van Jones, Mark LLoyd, Kevin Jennings, Cass Sunstein, Donald Berwick;
- Ram-rodding of ObamaCare through Congress;
- Elena Kagan Appointment and numerous other appointments of homosexuals and Muslims to key leadership positions in his administration;
- Black Panther Election Polls Intimidation & DOJ Refusal To Prosecute Matter;
- $500 Million Taxpayer Money Solyndra Fiasco;
- Whistleblower Prosecution;
- “You Didn’t Build This” Speech; and 1.4 Billion Rounds Ammo Purchase.
Add to that all the political blunders and deeds of incompetence by Obama himself and his administration officials and bureaucrats, and what the cumulative adds up to is irrefutably the most incompetent and foundation-destroying administration in the history of our nation. But, such is what you get with an ego-centric, narcissistic, vindictive, dark, and Marxism-steeped Chief Executive Officer, hell-bent on undermining and dismantling the most effective form of government in human history, and becoming the most tyrannical world dictator ever, all of whom were the quintessential embodiments of ultimate, demented narcissists.
Now with all this said, I think it is vital to eschew afresh with maximum disdain in this context the words of Hillary Clinton in Senate hearings regarding the atrocities of Benghazi embassy terrorist attacks in which four noble and heroic Americans needlessly died in service to their country, “At this point, what difference does it make!” Well, when due consideration is given to the indubitable fact that the sitting president of the most powerful nation on earth in 2013 possesses under the purview of his office, as I pointed out in the aforementioned preceding article on this topic:
“…the authority to initiate nuclear and other lethal weaponry and military operations that are of unprecedented magnitude and carry the prospect of wreaking unprecedented results both in terms of lethality and devastation. Not to mention the incalculable number of decisions the Commander-in-Chief of our military and highest ranking officer of our national government can, must, and will make that are capable of producing effects and results that may be either literally or virtually unchangeable”
–then it makes a DIFFERENCE! and it MATTERS! that the man who wields that kind of instant authority and power inherent in the office of the President of the United States of America, presents such obvious and overt signs of what for many decades now has been recognized as a mental disorder. It is these underlying psychological abnormalities that have informed and driven many of the decisions, actions, and lack of action that have been abundantly apparent in myriad matters and concerning many issues transpiring during the presidency of one Barack Hussein Obama.
The American people deserve better, and should press their elected federal officials to bring resolution of this immense cloud hanging over this nation via impeachment procedures, not because the POTUS suffers from mental illness, but on the basis that the effects of those mental illnesses he suffers, as demonstrated in the multitude of scandals and incompetencies only cursorily mentioned herein, per our constitution, has rendered him legally and medically incapacitated to carry out the duties and responsibilities which he is sworn to carry out.###
