THE GREATEST SERMON I NEVER PREACHED!

Today I preached the greatest sermon I never preached!

I preached it not from a pulpit, but from a recliner chair in a chemotherapy clinic!

The Importance and Significance of John-the-Baptist’s Ministry

John the Baptist’s unorthodox, unique, and unprecedented forerunner ministry burst forth suddenly, unexpectedly, and dramatically, to say the least. In bringing forth John’s ministry, God ingeniously, if you will, circumvented or bypassed every existing authority structure and system at the time—civil and religious—which demonstrates this is the reason the Holy Spirit inspired Luke to set the scene as He did.

ALL Scripture is God-Breathed and MUST be Believed!

I consistently meet Christians who challenge parts of the Bible solely because they do not fit their denominational standard. Pastors are especially guilty. Calvinists reject “Arminian” teachings and Arminian believers reject Paul’s writings about election, predestination, and the sovereignty of God. What is our obligation? We are to believe all of the Bible regardless of our being able to reconcile it. It is in the theological challenge that we learn. Our first responsibility is to God–not our local church. Mental stretching does for our spirit what physical exercise does for the body. Such work-outs may be painful and tiring–but, they produce strength.

PRESSING ON TO MATURITY

It is now time that individual believers and the collective Church that Jesus is building MUST begin to advance toward the accomplishment of the end-times purposes and plans of God!

God is doing a NEW THING as He promised in His word He is constantly doing, and it is up to every genuine believer in Christ and the collective church to know, understand, comprehend what those new things are and begin to walk in and according to them!

Supernatural Manifestations in Revival History

With the phenomena associated with the “Toronto Blessing,” the Pensacola/ Brownsville revival, and the ministry of Rodney Howard-Browne, such as falling under the power of the Spirit, trembling, holy laughter, etc., people have tended to either completely accept or completely reject all such phenomena. However, when we study the history of the church, in particular the evangelical and holiness movements of the eighteenth to early twentieth centuries, we see that many of these manifestations have occurred in these movements, but such phenomena were neither accepted out of hand, nor dismissed summarily.

Your Spiritual Diet Could Be Killing You!

There is an increasing measure of unbelief in today’s churches. Weak faith, little faith and no faith is at an all-time high. Strong faith, exceedingly great faith, and the kind of faith that causes Jesus to marvel (Matt. 8:10) is at an all-time low.

How Long Will Shallow, Spiritless Revivals Suffice?

In a time when repentance is needed the most, we have teachings sweeping the land that tell Christians they don’t need to repent. In a day when there is a deplorable lack of holiness in the church, we are being told that we are already holy enough through Christ’s sacrifice (2 Cor. 7:1). In an hour when we sadly lack God’s power, we are oversaturated with church conferences that focus on numbers. Whatever it takes to grow numbers seems to be the cry of every powerless pastor.

Understanding the Charismata Gifts of Tongues & Interpretation of Tongues

Nowhere does Scripture inform us that God has rescinded the appointment of the gift of various forms of tongues in the Church, though many have sought to have them “impeached” or “abrogated” from the Church without any Biblical justification for doing so. Cessationists must resort to extra-biblical theorization to support their unproven assertions, which are based virtually exclusively and entirely upon past Church history, which is the record of what the Church did vis-à-vis what God ordained and prescribed in His Word for the Church to do. The chasm between the two is vast!

Tongues—The Initial Evidence of Spirit-Baptism

From the preponderance of Scriptural record, it is extremely, and in fact, unimpeachably safe, to conclude that the Biblical pattern of the initial sign or indicator that a person has received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues. Certainly, it’s safer to say it is, than that it’s not.

Top AG Leader George O. Wood Speaks Out On Tongues

We believe the baptism in the Spirit brings the delight of initially speaking with other tongues, but if we stop there, this Pentecostal experience will have no ongoing fruitfulness. I grew up in the Assemblies of God when it was preached that the baptism of the Spirit is for the empowerment of believers for life and service.

Dunamis! Power From On High!

The matter of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is without question, the most controversial matter in the annals of Church history. And for centuries the deceiver (Satan) has deceived people into thinking that the matter of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a denominational or sectarian issue, and thereby has kept multitudes of believers from receiving the supernatural power of God in their lives that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit brings into believers’ lives, because the last thing on earth that Satan wants more believers to be empowered with the POWER OF GOD in the manner that Jesus was, lest they perform the works that Jesus did and even greater works to “destroy the works of the Devil” as Jesus did in His appearance!
