Dojo student bowing to pay homage to the "gods" behind martial arts

Dojo student bowing to the “god of this world” (2 Cor. 4:4) behind martial arts.
“Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.” (Ex. 23:24)

[Editor’s Note: This article series is an adaptation from the book, Exposing the Dangers of Martial Arts, by Vito Rallo, a former five-time USA National Karate Champion. See the end of this article for more about the book.]

Over the course of the last three to four decades, martial arts have pervaded both the world and the church realm at an alarming rate. During that span, the enemy has been hard at work instituting his insidious plan to spiritually weaken and wreak spiritual destruction in the lives of individuals, as well as even whole segments of the church at large, by means of injection of the expansive package of deceptions comprising the martial arts.

Let us be clear, all forms of martial arts (and yoga), without exception, are rooted in false religions and the occult, and can in no way be sanitized or Christianized. Many individual believers and entire church-groups have been deceived into believing they can be. Such theories and beliefs are total deception from a practical standpoint, and from a theological standpoint would be labeled heresy! Yet, such false beliefs about these ancient religious practices and false claims of their being harmonious and congruous with Biblical Christianity have seemingly inundated the modern church like a tsunami! And at present there appears no indication of this “wave” of false doctrine receding at any time in the foreseeable future (cf., Eph. 4:14).

The bottom line is this: The spirit behind martial arts is antichrist! By that I mean it is contrary to everything we know about who Christ and Christianity is! How can we think that an antichrist spirit is in any way compatible or harmonious with the Spirit of Christ? They are not friends or friendly with each other! We cannot make them be friends or friendly with each other! I have seen people fall away from their faith in God who were once strong in the Lord because of this antichrist activity. The people of God—Christians, Christian churches—have been deceived in regard to the martial arts and just how diabolical they in fact are! It is time to acknowledge that deception and do something about it.

Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. “Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord. “And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you. “And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty. (2 Cor. 6:14-18; emphasis added)

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; (Eph. 5:11; emphasis added)

The Empty Tomb on Resurrection MorningThe annual religious observance known in Christendom as “Easter Sunday” once again is upon us. This Sunday the vast majority of Christendom will celebrate what most of organized Christianity now considers the highest Holy Day on the religious calendar. It has been celebrated now for centuries since the Church Council at Nicaea in 325 A.D. set the first Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox as “Easter Sunday.” At first glance, that premise may seem innocuous…until it is understood that it was the early “Universal Church’s” adoption of the pagan day of veneration of the Babylonian goddess Ostara (alternately spelled “Eostre”, aka, Ishtar), the entire system of which is squarely centered in Babylonian pagan astrology, the anti-God religious system devised by Satan himself to redirect humanity’s worship of God to himself.

While Easter festivities are now observed by Christian groups around the world, the irrefutable fact is that the observance is entirely without Biblical precedence, and in truth owes its origins to pagan worship of the ancient goddess Astarte and her counterpart in Teutonic mythology, the Greek goddess of spring, Eostre, who pagans lavished with hedonistic worship in a festival named after her that was held each year on the vernal equinox, March 21st, in hopes of evincing her favor with the beneficences of a warm and bright springtime after enduring the bleaknesses of a long, cold and dreary winter. Many of the festivities associated with Easter today, such as “Easter Egg Hunts” and the “Easter Bunny,” have no connection whatever to the resurrection of Christ, and are carry-overs from the pagan festivals. Eggs and rabbits, for obvious reasons, have long been symbols of fertility and reproduction in paganism and mythology. Continue reading “Easter or Resurrection Sunday?” »

It seems more and more that we are living in a land of paradoxes. While we are all the beneficiaries of sacrifices made for the foundations laid by which we enjoy the liberties and freedoms in our Nation, many would disregard the very roots of those foundations. We are witnessing the human inclination to casually disregard what previous generations have held to be of fundamental importance.

Interestingly, there are those who love to tell the church of it’s social obligation, while also telling the church to keep silent regarding public issues. On the one hand many want the benefits of what the institutional Church can offer, when it suits them, while also undermining the very heart that motivates and empowers the Church from its effectiveness. The Child With Four Names

By John Stallings

There are lots of people with three names.

Among them are, Sandra Day-O’Conner, US Supreme Court Judge, Jaquelyn Kennedy Onasis, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tommy Lee Jones, Billy Bob Thornton, Billy Ray Cyrus, James Earl Jones, and Sara Jessica Parker.

Of course we can’t forget those with one name like Madonna, or Cher or Elvis.

One of the many important decisions confronting new parents is, “What shall we call our baby?” Most new parents spend hours debating this question. We all realize that names matter. Shall the new baby be named after his father, his uncle, a favorite friend? Should he be given a name that happens to be popular at the moment? Or one that simply sounds good? The Amazing Dual Gifts of God -- The Word and the SpiritThe Day of Pentecost exploded onto the ancient world with such power that it forever changed the work of scribes and the production of books. The overwhelming demand for the written account of Jesus had no precedent in world history. As a result, the New Testament numerically eclipsed all the combined works of Plato, Aristotle, Herodotus, Euripides, Homer, and other ancient writers. The explanation for this phenomenon can be given simply: The book revealed Jesus as the access to God. While other writers informed the reader, the message of Jesus changed the reader. To many people, including many who claim to be Christians or believers in Christ, the matter of the existence and operations of the devil on earth are either basically an unknown or a spiritual conundrum. That is understandable, given the fact that unbiblical or in some cases, antibiblical, preaching and teaching on the matter is ubiquitous, even in the context of self-purported Christian churches. The central theory of that biblically-incorrect teaching to varying degrees is the somewhat misleading assertion (in whatever terms it is expressed): “Jesus defeated the devil on the Cross of Calvary.”

While that statement and the set of teachings it represents bears some truth, it nevertheless is not “the whole truth and nothing but the truth!” Rather, it is actually partial truth. Did Jesus defeat the devil on the Cross of Calvary? YES! Jesus did indeed defeat the devil on the Cross of Calvary, but the problem is: what specifically did that “defeat” entail? Was it entire and complete in the sense that the devil and his power and authority to bring adversity into people’s lives and into the world system were brought to an end, or ceased? Was the devil annihilated or eliminated, or did he cease to exist? Was the devil’s domain—the kingdom of darkness—annihilated and rendered null and void and no longer existent? Unfortunately, the answer to all those questions is a resounding “NO!” Continue reading “Is The Devil Really Defeated? Well, Yes and No!” »

In light of ongoing riots and protests in the aftermath of the George Zimmerman acquittal it is vital for genuine Born Again believers to be reminded of some important truths regarding real freedom.

Christ—who Himself is TRUTH—is the only Source of true freedom! No man can give you freedom, and therefore no man can take it away.

“If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the TRUTH shall make you FREE” (John 8:31-32).

“If the SON therefore shall make you free, ye shall be FREE indeed” (John 8:36).

Jesus said to him, “I AM the way, and the TRUTH, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me” (John 14:6).

Freedom is personal. Freedom is singular. Freedom is individualistic, and comes to individuals, not groups. Hence, individuals are the recipients of freedom, not any whole people-groups. Continue reading “The Real Truth About Real Freedom” »

A pastor worked in his study all through Christmas Eve preparing for the Christmas morning service.

Being very tired he dozed off and dreamt of a world to which the Savior had never come. In his dream he was looking around his home but there were no Christmas decorations, no candles or Christmas wreaths. He walked into his study and thumbed through his library but found no books about Jesus, and the Bible he found ended at Malachi.

He noticed that the last words of the Bible were:

“Lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” Continue reading “I’m Dreaming of A RIGHT Christmas” »

Has Your Veil Been Rent?
By Steven Lambert

“And Jesus CRIED OUT AGAIN with a loud voice, and YIELDED UP His spirit. And behold, the veil of the temple was torn (rent, KJV) in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split” (Mat. 27:50-51).

On the Cross, Jesus used his last, remaining breath to cry out to God “again” with a loud voice, and then He “yielded up His spirit” to God, and died. At that very moment, the veil in the iconic temple in Jerusalem was rent, or torn, from top to bottom, as the Spirit of God, which had dwelt behind that veil burst forth, never again to dwell in temples made with human hands, but forevermore in human “temples” of the Spirit—i.e., Born Again, Spirit-infused Believers in Christ! I want to deal with an important Scriptural issue, the Health and Wealth message and “prosperity truth.” Some ministers make statements such as: “It is not God’s will that anyone be sick. No Christian need ever suffer, furthermore, all believers should have a superabundance of material goods.” Such teachings sound attractive as their promoters pull isolated texts out of context. However, multiplied numbers of Christians are left in a state of despondency because they remain sick or poor.

May I speak to every child of God who is currently experiencing deep trial and agony of soul? May I comfort the sick and impoverished? You are not out of the will of God! It is not sin or unbelief in your life that keeps you from being healed or becoming wealthy! Let’s allow the God of the Scriptures to speak for Himself. Yea, let God be true and every man a liar (Romans 3:4).

First, Jesus never taught health and wealth for all. The Bible teaches that Christ was born in a borrowed stable, was laid in a borrowed manger (rode into Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey; editor) and, 33 years later, ended up in the borrowed grave prepared for Joseph of Arimathaea (Mark 15:43). He was so poor that when a certain scribe came, and said unto Him, “Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest,” Jesus replied, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man hath no where to lay his head” (Matthew 8:19-20). Solemnly and slowly, with his index finger extended, Napoleon Bonaparte outlined a great stretch of country on a map of the world. “There,” he growled, “is a sleeping giant. Let him sleep! If he wakes, he will shake the world.” That sleeping giant was China. Today, Bonaparte’s prophecy of some one hundred and fifty years ago makes sense.

Today Lucifer is probably surveying the church just as Bonaparte did China. One can almost behold the fear in his eyes as he thinks of the Church’s unmeasured potential and growls, “Let the Church sleep! If she wakes, she will shake the world.” Is not the Church the sleeping giant of today? Continue reading “Today’s Sleeping Giant” »

Editors Note: This message was transcribed from an oral sermon by the author.

I have a subtle theme for today. This will make an ultimate demand of your faith, namely, the faith to believe that the veil that covered the holiest place of all, and which barred every soul from entry except the Aaronic high priest once a year, is now open and available to you. Can you believe that? You can come to the holiest place of all and have communion with the Lord over the mercy seat and between the cherubim, where He has said, “I will meet with you above and between and will be in commune with you, and will give you instruction for the sons of Israel.” This is a timeless and eternal provision. The earthly Tabernacle and Temple are no longer in existence, but they are nevertheless a replica of the heavenly pattern on the Mount. Moses constructed something that already had existence and continues to exist in heaven for those who access it by faith.

I am reliably told that the veil which covered the entrance to the holy place in the Temple was nine inches thick (Nine is the number for the Holy Spirit in Scripture, perhaps signifying that what the author is about to address can only be accomplished by the Person of the Holy Spirit as we surrender to His workings in our lives, and not by our own religious efforts; Editor.). It was split from top to bottom the moment Jesus died. How is it then that so few of us have availed ourselves and have access to that place? Might it be that there is another veil not yet rent, and that blocks our entry and communion into that holiest place of all? In Hebrews Chapter 4, verse 16, we read:

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We have an invitation and a promise to come boldly to the throne of grace where the divine presence is, and where God waits for those who will come to find mercy. How else are we going to extend mercy, or find grace to help in time of need? Continue reading “The Veil of Self” »
